Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

The service at planmariage.ca is operated by Groupe Bien-aimé, located at 8360 rue Birnam, Québec, Canada. For any privacy question, contact the person responsible for the protection of personal information at john@planmariage.ca.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service:

• Account information: your name, email address, and authentication details when you sign up.
• Wedding content: information you add to your site, names, wedding date, story, schedule, venue/location, photos, FAQ, and similar details.
• Guest and RSVP data: when your guests respond, we process the names, responses, and any details they submit through your RSVP form, on your behalf.
• Communications: messages you send us (e.g. support, custom-design or founding-couple requests) and the information they contain.
• Usage data: basic analytics about how the site is used (pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate region), collected to improve the product.
• Payment information (premium, when available): processed by a third-party payment provider, we do not store full card numbers.

3. How we use your information

• To create, host, and display your wedding website.
• To operate features such as RSVP, guest management, and reminders.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• To send service-related communications (e.g. account, security, transactional emails).
• To improve and secure the product, and to understand how it is used.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

4. Legal basis and consent

We process your personal information based on your consent, the necessity to provide the service you requested, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the product, and our legal obligations. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting us.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the site. We use analytics tools, PostHog for product analytics and Google Analytics for audience measurement, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. These tools may set cookies and collect usage and device data. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

6. Service providers and international transfers

We rely on trusted service providers to run the product, and we share personal information with them only as needed:

• Google Firebase, authentication, database, and file storage.
• Google Analytics, audience measurement.
• PostHog, product analytics.
• Resend, sending transactional and notification emails.
• Our hosting/infrastructure provider, serving the application.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Québec, including in the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside the province, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, as required by applicable law.

7. Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and afterwards only as required to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data (see your rights below).

8. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS everywhere, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers, to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a confidentiality incident where the law requires it.

9. Your rights

Under Québec's Law 25 and PIPEDA, you may:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion of your information, subject to legal limits.
• Withdraw your consent to certain processing.
• Request the portability of the information you provided us, in a structured technological format.
• File a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) if you believe your rights have not been respected.

10. Guest data and couples' responsibility

When you use PlanMariage to collect RSVPs or manage guests, you act as the party responsible for that guest information and we process it on your behalf. You are responsible for informing your guests, for having the right to include their information, and for the photos and content you upload. We handle guest data only to provide the features you use.

11. Children

The service is intended for adults planning a wedding and is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
